In this story he talks about how Christmas is a season for kindness, giving and thankful. He also talks about what happens on Christmas like it's all bright outside, birds chirping, etc.

for my paper I also want to write about his technique on his writing style.

Christmas Post #5

Title: Christmas
Author: Washington Irving
# of pages: 176-181

The story takes place in England and Washington Irving is describing what Christmas is like for him how it feels smells looks like birds chirping etc. This story is similar to his other story called The Broken Heart. This story is unique compared tom the other stories i read because this one doesn't have a plot twist, horror it's just something he see's on Christmas. He says it's also a season for love and kindness.

No, i dont think Washington Irving used any symbolism in this story i think he just puts the plot straight forward.

Rip Van Winkle gets drunk at a party one night and when he wakes up everything has changed.

Rip Van Winkle post #3

Title: Rip Van Winkle

Author: Washinton Irving

# of pages: 26-44

plot: Rip Van Winkle goes to a party on night and got drunk. When he wakes up everytthing changes for him. At first he was confused on where he's at. As Rip Van Winkle looked around the village he couldn't find his friends anywhere, nor his family and when he got back to his house most of it was caved in and his dog is laying inside the house.

Ideas for paper: Maybe i can summarize or give a good perspective on my American Author so if anyone reads my paper they can get an idea to say, this is either a good author to read and i might enjoy it or say this author doesn't speak to me in what i like to read so i wont even bother.

Rip Van Winkle Post #2

Book: Rip Van Winkle
Author: Washinton Irving
pages: 26 -44
About author: He make the best short stories ever!

Well so far i think he writing stlye is descriptive, plot twisting, and in Rip Van Winkle some thing you might never want to wake up to.

The book that i read was called Rip Van Winkle by Washington Irving.
in this book his style is sort of like the twilight zone when Rip Van Winkle got drunk at a party and slept in a barn for 20 years and when he wakes up everything has changed. His wife past away, his dauther is now an adult and his closest friends died in the war.
